Rapid Mailer - How to Reorder Opt in Fields
Posted by Linda Lou on 29 January 2016 05:29 PM

Question:
1. I have an optin form that does work on my blog, then I added a second one to get a free report. It is not working at all. No response whatsover.

2. I used the Rapid Mailer sidebar widget and it works. My question now is how do I get name first on this instead of email address first?

Answer:
1. You'll want to use the Rapid Mailer sidebar widget as opposed to a text widget with opt-in code (see attached screenshot below).

Additionally, I've created a video that shows some of the more common configurations issues that could cause this to happen: https://imsuccesscenter.com/customercare/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/115/24/rapid-mailer---checking-your-configuration

You'll also want to check the following:

A. Please back your site up, delete Rapid Mailer, download a fresh copy from your member area, installing it either via FTP or the Wordpress dashboard. Not only does this ensure you have the latest version, 1.7.8, this also ensures that you don't have a bad installation. You won't lose data by doing this.

B. Once this is done, please go to https://imsuccesscenter.com/customercare/index.php?/News/NewsItem/View/7/trouble-shooting and read the post dated Jan. 29, titled "Trouble Shooting" which provides a step-by-step procedure to check for plugin conflicts.

C. Please ask your host to have your memory levels set as here:

#Change upload limits
file_uploads = On
post_max_size = 64M
upload_max_filesize = 64M
memory_limit = 256M
max_execution_time 60
#Change upload limits end

Most important part is memory_limit = 256M, they can set it to higher to resolve your issue.

In the case of the upload max file size, this ensures that we can upload things like the Profit Builder Theme with no issue.

The max execution time simply means that any operations that a plugin or theme is doing will not time out. Memory simply refers to the amount of data that can be processed. Your host can make these changes, typically through cPanel, using a file called php.ini.

D. Please ensure you're using Server Cron and not WP Cron as here:https://imsuccesscenter.com/customercare/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/96/24/rapid-mailer---email-scheduling-and-setting-up-cron-job

We generally recommend using the SendGrid API option as the free account has similar features to Amazon and it is also far easier to set up, only requiring your account username and password.

E. Additionally, if you still see the issue, please install Rapid Mailer into its own sub-directory with its own database and Wordpress installation see if you have the same issue (do not install any other plugins). Here's a video on how to do this:https://imsuccesscenter.com/customercare/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/132/24/rapid-mailer---how-to-install-in-a-sub-directory

2. The video above shows how to reorder the opt in fields...
