Natural Search Optimization: Optimizing Organic Search Sites

Natural search optimization involves making your website appealingNatural search optimization to the search engines when visitors type in a search query. The more optimized your website is, the better chances you’ll have of a search engine like Google choosing to put your website at the top of the search results.

Natural search optimization takes more time to develop initially, but it will cost you a lot less in the long run. The only direct alternative to natural search optimization is pay-per-click, which can get pretty costly depending upon the niche and how long you choose to run the campaign.

Natural Search Optimization with Backlinks

You hear so many “IM gurus” talk about the need for quality backlinks. As much as you probably don’t want to hear it again, quality backlinks really do help your cause when developing natural search optimization.

Consider the following scenario. You’ve just set up a hot dog stand on a street corner in New York City. You have a ton of competition already, but you think you can make a go of it. So you start putting out signs advertising how great your hot dogs are. A few people will believe you, but when you’re tooting your own horn, who’s going to take your word for it? In the eyes of your potential customers, you’re still a nobody who’s trying to get his hot dog stand off the ground.

But consider how much your business would take off if you could get the local Starbuck’s to give away coupons to your hot dog stand. Not only would you be getting your name in front of steady, all-day traffic through Starbuck’s, you would be benefitting from their recommendation, so to speak. In other words, it’s as if Starbucks is telling their customers to check out your hot dog stand because it’s the best in the city.

That’s how it is with quality backlinks. Visitors to a well-established site get to see your link and know that, because they trust your site, it’s well worth their trip.

Natural Search Optimization with Content and Images

It’s all about quality content with natural search optimization. But in addition to not feeding your visitors regurgitated articles or blog posts that you snagged off of CNN’s website, you need to infuse a few more ingredients.

You probably already know that you need to use keyword phrases to capture the attention of the search engine. But you also need to add a few embellishments to those keyword phrases.

Natural search optimization means that you put certain keyword phrases in bold, italic and underlined text types. Choose three keyword phrases in your article and put each in one of the listed text types. Additionally, if you can link one of your keyword phrases to a similar article on your site, that helps too.

Don’t forget to upload an image to catch the reader’s attention. Be sure to add an image title and alternate text in the form of your targeted keyword phrase to add natural search optimization to your article.
